Client: “I just wanted to email as following your visit the other week I was really poorly and have been pretty much since. The reason for my mail is I really need to say again just how wonderful PH is and I couldn’t let it go unmentioned any longer. The night when you had been I was so poorly I really didn’t think I was going to be able to go for our usual lunch out but Pat arrived and she was happy as always to take things as slow as I needed to getting me ready so that I was ok whilst doing other bits as I rested and she managed to get me out for lunch which was a near on miracle and I even managed to get some food down me and have a nice time. I wouldn’t have managed to eat at home as well as I did out the way I was. I don’t know how she does it. Since then she has just been a star (not that she hasn’t always been) but she just goes above and beyond to do everything she can to help me and do all she can and more.


I was so down about how bad my house had got and yesterday was so poorly again and just didn’t have the strength to go out so PH made lunch here for us and she completely gutted my downstairs, I’ve never known someone make someone feel so much better about something as she did for me yesterday.. I don’t know what I did before PH and I really felt I needed to say what a massive difference having her has made to my life. Not only does she help me like this but she makes me smile and laugh. She is so kind hearted and sincere. There aren’t many people left in the world like her and I am so grateful that you gave me PH. I just wish there was a way I could let her know how much she was appreciated as I tell her all the time but I’m not sure she really understands just how much I mean it. Also really liking RD, she is lovely and we are getting on great… You do give me the nicest carers. Thanks”

GP: The GP left a message on MH’s phone stating what a fantastic job she is doing with (client). This lady has a lot of mental health issues and physical disabilities which MH has helped her with.

Deputy Manager: Lindie visited (client) recently and was very impressed with how MH had cleaned and tidied Lisa’s flat. Lisa was reluctant for anyone to go into the bedroom or fridge. When MH finally persuaded (client) to let her help she found the duvet cover covered in faeces and the fridge with rotting meat and food as well as being very untidy. Lindie said the flat is transformed and (client) is very proud of her flat now and pleased with MH’s efforts.

Client: came out of hospital during the day. Ellen went to write up the Medical Administration Record sheets. The hospital had not prepared the nomad trays in time for discharge. (client) had been sent home with 27 tablets and it took Ellen 2 hours to write up 19 MAR sheets. (client) told Ellen how grateful she was and so thankful that CAH decided to continue to visit her again so she could come home. (client) was very happy to be home and very complimentary about the carers who visit her.

Occupational Therapist: When MC went to (client) yesterday the OT was there. The OT said to MC how smart CAH carers looked, and how professional they were. She compared the moving and handling to another agency who she said, did not demonstrate good techniques, not properly trained and were lifting a client out of the bed without using a hoist because they had not been trained how to use it.

Social Services: A prospective client’s husband rang the office asking if we had availability. Lou said she would pass their details onto Lilly so she could arrange a review and that we did have availability for the 4 visits a day they were asking for. The person calling in told Lou that CAH had come highly recommended from Social Services.

Sister: When KB went yesterday evening for the visit, She was distressed. The GP and District Nurse had been asked to visit during the day because (client)’s legs were leaking badly. Nobody had arrived when KB visited, the legs were worse and she did not know what to do. KB contacted 111 and they arranged for antibiotics and KB also redressed the legs. She rang to say how grateful she was to KB, she complimented her on how she took control and managed a situation which she found very distressing and did not know what to do or who to contact.

Client: Lilly introduced JS today. (client) said to Lilly she was feeling a lot better and did not know how much longer she would need the visits for but it had been very helpful and the carer who had been in so far CD was very nice.

Client and wife: When MC did the review with Mr and Mrs (client) they said that ‘the carers are lovely and the office staff and on-call are very good at answering queries and the carers are very good at carrying out the daily tasks’. They added that the carers are very good with their time keeping and if they are late the office always rings. Overall they are very happy with the service.

Client: rang to say that it is 5 years on the 5th of this month when we started caring for him. He said thank you for doing such a wonderful job, he is very grateful for all the carers he has been sent and the care they do. He was very appreciative and said he knows it is not always easy and Lilly has a very difficult job.

Daughters: When Leah went to do John’s evening visit he was very breathless and appeared unwell. LS contacted the family and waited until they arrived. The next day they rang Ellen and thanked her for what LS had done and said how well she had managed the situation.

Daughter: JS spoke to her to let her know there was going to be a change for today’s lunch visit. She said ‘Thank you, its lovely how you let me know’. I then informed her what carer was going and she said ‘Thank you, I like Ellen, she’s lovely’

Client: rang Michelle to say she had MH visit her for the first time yesterday. (client) said she had never met MH before and how lovely she was. MH was very good and said she was very pleased.

Supervisor: At MC’s review she informed Lilly of several compliments:

  • Client: said to Michaela she always looked forward to her coming to do the visit
  • Kevin (from Cross Roads) visited Client and complimented her on her moving and handling, he said how he had learnt a lot from her on moving and handling technique and she set a very good example
  • Client: said to Michaela she was such a lovely girl and really enjoyed her coming

Michaela complimented NR (Carer) she was proving to be a very good carer, the clients spoke highly of her and she was kind and conscientious

Daughter: rang to thank Lilly for everything that had been done for her mother over the weekend and today since her mother had deteriorated. She said during the time OB had been with CAH “all the carers have been wonderful, thank you”

RT (Community Matron) just called to say “ Thank you to all the carers who looked after OB, they all did a very good job and she was pleased that OB got her wish to stay at home too, so that she could end her days as she wished.”

Client: At the 3 monthly review the client and her family said how happy they were with Carers at Home and they are very happy with the carers. The client added, “Carers at Home are a lot better than the other company I had.”

She also said that the Louise and Jenni do a very good job rostering and has no complaints with her roster. The carer worker added, Michelle is very good too, always cheerful and helpful.

Daughter: her mother is in hospital, Y had a meeting today to discuss her and mother’s discharge. Y had asked for CAH to be the agency to provide the care. Alice said that Carers at Home were one of best but could not provide the care because Y knows us. Lilly has met this lady twice when she went to collect her car from the garage, does not know her personally and does not know her mother and nor do the carers!

Daughter in law: sent an email on 14th December and made the following comment

Both Gary and I cannot thank you, and the staff that have looked after (client) enough because without all of you, (client would not be where she is now, and I know for a fact that she will miss the girls when she finally moves form the area.’

Daughter: rang to say her father was settled in a care home in Addlestone. She thanked Carers at Home on behalf of her and her family “thanks for all your care and kindness and friendship for AH during his time in your care.
